Guy Gilchrist

I’d like to invite you to have a conversation with me. I am Jim Henson’s cartoonist. Jim hired me when I was 24 years old, and I became his “go-to GUY,” being the very first cartoonist to write and draw The Muppet Show characters for millions of people in a worldwide audience in newspapers every day. I loved Jim, and he loved me, and I was an integral part of Fraggle Rock, and instrumental in the creation of the Muppet Babies.

It is my honor to carry on Jim’s legacy through his incredible stories and characters, along with his kindness, caring and love for humanity.

Here’s a short bio from my website, www.aguygilchristproduction.com:

Guy Gilchrist has always been known as Jim Henson’s cartoonist, maybe because Jim himself asked Guy to create the Jim Henson’s Muppet Show Comic Strip that was in every paper in the free world in the 1980s! Then, while Guy was busy doing that, he found himself instrumental in the beginnings of Fraggle Rock, and then became chief cartoonist creating the iconic MUPPET BABIES! But Guy is so much more of a legend because of ALL the OTHER CARTOONS he’s worked on over his storied career: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Tiny Toons, The Pink Panther, Minnie Mouse, as well as his own TINY DINOS, and MUDPIE! This past year, Guy became Miss DOLLY PARTON’S Cartoonist, too! Creating LITTLE DOLLY for the #1 CHILDREN’S ALBUM IN THE WORLD! “I Believe In You”!

Perhaps you would like to have me as a guest for your show! Below are some very kind words from Comic-Con owners and promoters that I have partnered with in 2018, and from years past.

“Guy Gilchrist has been a celebrity guest at my Collectibles Extravaganzas since 1990, and currently enjoys entertaining fans and other celebrities with his art and humor. Always welcome to appear at my NorthEast ComicCons in New England, Guy is an award winning creator, has worked for Jim Henson on Muppet Babies and took over for the legendary Ernie Bushmiller to write and draw the newspaper comic strip “Nancy” until its finale. His legacy in the comic and art world is secured.” – Gary Sohmers

“It was a pleasure having Guy Gilchrist as a guest at the 2018 Great Lakes Comic-Con. Guy was wonderful and very approachable… both kids and adults loved seeing his Muppet art! Guy gave a very informative panel on his experiences with both Jim Henson, and his career working with the Muppets. We would encourage anyone with the opportunity to meet Guy Gilchrist to not miss the chance!” – Mike DeSantis

“Nickel City Con wants to thank you for 2 years attending our show!” – Meredith Phelps
