Russ was selected from nearly a thousand artists to appear on Season 1 of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge. His wit and presence quickly made him a fan favorite.
Special Effect Artist & Film Production A self-taught special effect artist, Russ learned the industry the hard way, through trial and error. Never letting anything get in his way, Russ has amassed a respectable filmography thus far. Films like, 50 First Dates (2004), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006), Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007), Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge (2014), SLC Punk 2: Punk’s Dead (2015), and #Screamers (2015) to name a few.
Writing
Russ is also the author of the popular how-to series, A Workshop with Russ Adams. The series has three titles to date, Latex Mask Making (2016), Shrunken Heads (2017), and Creature Fur and Hair (2017). And coming soon, THIS IS NOT THAT SHOW: Surviving Reality, a cautionary tale about the misconceptions of life on reality TV.
Russ has been a panelist, celebrity guest, and cosplay judge for over 30 comic conventions, anime conventions, trade shows, and expos since 2014.
